Instead of erasing all of the chats at once, WhatsApp is testing a new chat management function that allows users to clean their talks more accurately.

A better "Clear Chat" feature is included in the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.25.34.5).

You will be able to select precisely what to remove with this upgrade, such as:

Just messages

Just pictures

Just vids

Just audio files, etc.

Therefore, you can delete big items (like videos) but retain crucial text conversations if your WhatsApp storage is filling up.

Why does it matter?
It gives users more control over their chat storage.

It helps free up space without losing everything in a conversation.

It reduces the risk of accidentally deleting important data.

Interface improvement
Previously, to clear a chat, you had to go deep into settings menus. Now, WhatsApp has added the “Clear Chat” option directly to the Chat Info screen (where you see contact or group details).
