JEE Main 2026: Aadhar-Based Exam Centre Allotment Explained

The NTA has announced that JEE Main 2026 exam centres will be allotted based on candidates’ present and permanent addresses, with the Aadhaar address serving as the permanent one. This move aims to assign centres closer to students’ locations for added convenience.

As per the guidelines, candidates can select up to four cities as preferred exam centres, but all must be within the state of their present or permanent address.

The new system is not a concern for students. When registering, make sure your Aadhaar address corresponds with your current or permanent address. For simplicity, pick the closest cities when selecting exam locations.
