Overview of Sawana
Sawan is the fifth month of the Hindu calendar and is all about Lord Shiva. It is also called ‘Shravan Maas’ in many parts of the country. It takes place between July and August every year.
How Sawana is celebrated
During this auspicious month, many people keep Monday fasts called ‘Shravan somwaar’ and dedicate them to Lord Shiva. Women keep fasts on Tuesdays in honour of Goddess Parvati.
