Parliament’s Monsoon Session Disruptions

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar's electoral registers has been the focal point of growing tensions during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, which started on July 21. Referred to as "Silent Invisible Rigging," the opposition has charged the Election Commission with masterminding a politically driven voter purge that targets underprivileged regions.

In the midst of ongoing controversy, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were both adjourned on August 4. Congress MP Manickam Tagore interrupted the proceedings with signs and filed an adjournment petition calling for a discussion on the SIR problem. The Rajya Sabha was forced to adjourn during a tribute session for renowned tribal leader Shibu Soren due to ongoing demonstrations that continued even as the House tried to conduct its scheduled session.
