All 12 lakh (1.2 million) Central government personnel, including those in key positions like the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), now utilize Zoho's email platform instead of the National Informatics Center (NIC) system, which was moved over the course of the last year.

Earlier the government’s official email accounts (like @gov.in) were managed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) — a government body under the Ministry of Electronics and IT.

Now, these email accounts are being handled using a platform developed by Zoho, which is a private Indian tech company known for its business software (like Zoho Mail, Zoho CRM, etc.).
