What is happening today?
The famous Jagannath Rath Yatra (Chariot Festival) is starting on Friday in Puri, Odisha. The statues of Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra are removed from their temple and transported on enormous chariots (raths) for a magnificent journey to another temple known as Gundicha Temple during this enormous and revered Hindu celebration every year.
A significant number of devotees have assembled in Puri to participate in this holy occasion, as per traditionals. Every year, thousands of people flock to this celebration in hopes of seeing the gods and pulling the chariots.
