According to ANI, Air India said on Friday that it would be canceling a number of its local and international flights for maintenance and operational reasons.
Air India announced on Sunday that it is temporarily cutting narrow body operations by roughly 5% till at least July 15, 2025, following a 15% reduction in wide body flights. AI mostly employs its single-aisle Airbus A320 series on domestic and adjacent foreign flights.
As a result of this voluntary decision, Air India would temporarily halt operations on three routes and reduce frequency on 19 others. These cuts are intended to improve Air India's operational stability across the network and lessen passenger discomfort at the last minute. "Air India will continue to operate nearly 600 daily flights with its narrowbody aircraft on 120 domestic and short-haul international routes despite these temporary reductions," AI said in a statement.
