After November 30, 2025, State Bank of India (SBI) has made the decision to discontinue its mCASH service on OnlineSBI and YONO Lite.

OnlineSBI and YONO Lite had a feature called mCASH that allowed you to transmit money fast without adding a beneficiary. A single link might be used to send or receive money.

This functionality will stop functioning on December 1, 2025.
You won't be able to send or receive money via the app or mCASH links.

Instead, SBI is requesting that clients use RTGS, NEFT, IMPS, or UPI. These are more popular and safe ways to send money.

How Customers Can Access mCash?

Step 1 : Download the SBI mCash app from the Play Store.
Step 2 :Set an MPIN during registration
Step 3 :use that MPIN to log in to the app.

How mCash Works?

You can send money using SBI's mCASH service without designating the recipient as a beneficiary.

Sending money with OnlineSBI or State Bank Anywhere only requires the recipient's email address or mobile number.

For the person receiving the money:
They can have an account in any bank, not just SBI.

They can claim the money either through the SBI mCASH app or through the secure link sent by SBI.

The receiver gets an SMS or email with a link and an 8-digit passcode to open it and claim the funds.

Process of Sending Money Using UPI
You can now send and receive money using UPI instead of mCASH.BHIM SBI Pay is the UPI app that SBI offers.
Anyone with a bank account linked to UPI not just SBI clients can use this app to:
Send money right away
Get paid
Recharge and pay bills
Purchase online
You don't need to add a beneficiary; all you need to do is enter their UPI ID, mobile number, or QR code. Everything operates via your smartphone.
Steps to Transfer Money
Step 1: Open the BHIM SBI Pay App and log in.

Step 2: Choose "Pay."

Step 3: Choose a payment method, such as VPA, Account, IFSC, or QR Code.

Step 4: Add any more necessary information

Step 5: Click the "Tick" icon after choosing a debit account from the linked accounts.

Step 6: To authorize the transaction, enter your UPI PIN.

Step 7: To finish the payment, click the "Tick" mark.

With mCASH being discontinued, SBI customers can easily switch to UPI-based services like BHIM SBI Pay for fast, secure, and beneficiary-free money transfers. UPI offers a more reliable and convenient way to send, receive, and manage payments right from your smartphone.
