Background: FASTag and KYV Verification
FASTag, India's electronic toll collecting system managed by NHAI, is intended to make highway travel more convenient by enabling automatic toll deduction via RFID technology. To prevent misuse, the issuance process initially needed a KYV verification, which involved cross-checking vehicle details before activation to assure validity. Although this procedure increased security, it sometimes resulted in delays and difficulty, leaving users irritated with inactive tags and repeated follow-ups.
